A Good Day Starts With A Donut

Not sure how to write about our guy, Heath.

Heath is funny. He is sweet. He is easy to please. He is quiet and at the same time so very noisy.
He is so good and sometimes so difficult.
He is the littlest member of our family and he takes the most of our time.
Heath doesn't speak, but I know how to read his mind.

The guy has our heart.  He always has and he always will.
So, when July 16 rolled around we didn't have a problem knowing how to celebrate him!

The quickest way to capture Heath's heart is through food, specifically, donuts.
His day started at Dunkin' Donuts.

We walked the dog. Went to a water park. Walked the dog again.

Ate lunch while we watched the boats and walked the dog.

After taking a quick subway ride to midtown to pick up Jenna,
we headed over to Billy's Bakery in Chelsea.

Yes, the day was about food.  I know him.  I know what makes him happy.
Donuts and cupcakes are where it's at.

Going to Billy's has nothing to do with my love for this place.
When I say, "love," I mean complete adoration.

The doorway to goodness.

The inside to goodness.

The goods.

The guy loves to blow out candles.
We don't need fancy, just give us the cupcakes and we are good to go.

I hope all of his wishes and dreams come true.
I always make a secret wish for my kids when they blow out their candles (don't tell them).

I hope my wishes for him come true, too.

After the candles we went outside for our family birthday tradition.

Balloons.
It's just what we have always done and what we will always do; we love the ozone, but we love our tradition.  The number of balloons usually coordinates with the number of years we are celebrating.

Truth be told, Heath enjoys this tradition the most.
When it is someone else's birthday I usually need to hide the balloons all day because he will get the party started without any one knowing about it.

A short walk to the Hudson and he knew exactly what to do.

One by one the balloons go up.
And he couldn't be more thrilled.

We did have a nice New Yorker let us know that those balloons could kill animals.
We assured him that these were special balloons and they wouldn't harm anything.

The day ended, much like it began, perfectly.

Happy Birthday, Heath.
We are blessed to have you as part of our family.

We love you Heath! So glad you had a wonderful birthday. When Ryan was about your age, we celebrated by eating out for breakfast, lunch and dinner!
